Located on Lake Sunapee’s coveted eastern shore and perched 20 feet from lapping waters, our team was asked to reimagine this grand, but rustic home to the modern showpiece of our clients’ dreams. Initially a single story, the existing roof was removed and the ceiling vaulted. Large floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, enhancing the sense of openness. Back-to-back fireplaces, clad in slabs of natural stone, pair perfectly with sleek and modern furniture to create a sophisticated blend of clean lines, minimalist aesthetics, and subtle elegance. Custom walnut storage solutions were designed to integrate into the casework and paneling, to quietly provide storage for this busy family.

The open-plan living room merges seamlessly with the dining and kitchen areas. Wide hickory floors flow through each space beautifully contrasting with accents of ribbon cut mahogany. Neutral, earthy tones form the foundation of the home’s color palette but are punctuated by bold colors through artwork, textiles and carefully curated accessories.

The Kitchen features streamlined cabinetry with hardware-less designs for a sleek look. High-end appliances are fully integrated into the cabinetry, and countertops are crafted from quartz for a luxurious touch. Dual kitchen islands serve as a workspace and informal dining area. The use of statement pendant lighting above the islands adds a touch of whimsy and drama, while custom fabricated and powder coated steel cabinets give opportunities to display artful dishes and glassware.
Newly constructed and equally impressive is the adjacent Pool House. Its contemporary design creates a fluid transition between the tranquility of the lake and the vibrancy of the pool area, offering stunning views while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding natural beauty. Inside, the pool house is designed for comfort and convenience, with a chic lounge area, small kitchen, and a spa-inspired bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and Sauna.

The result is a contemporary home that balances luxury with livability, offering a space where modern design meets everyday comfort.
