Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire

Positioned centrally on the east coast of Lake Sunapee, this sunny spot was the perfect location for this bucolic home.

Inspired by American Arts and Crafts, the workmanship of this home is one-of-a-kind. The drama of the ebony stain overtop the Douglas Fir beams creates a cathedral-like effect upon entering the great room, complimenting the Stickley aesthetic throughout.

In the kitchen, a custom cast bronze sculpture above the range gives a nod to the landscape before construction, an abstract take on the horizon line. Leaded antique glass cabinets create a lived-in quality, as if the home has always been there, a subtle element of the past.

Jewel-toned rugs and accessories against the character grade white oak floors with a medium brown stain create a warm, earthy and cozy environment. The lighting leans a bit industrial to touch on the clients interest in mechanics, gears and function. Counters throughout are granite in varying species, speaking to the local beauty of New Hampshire.

The bar in the basement is constructed from a slab of live edge walnut made from a 16′ slab, the perfect place to entertain friends, old and new.
